There are few things that ruin a night out on the town like pink and red speckles all over your back, chest, or (worse) your butt. Back-ne, Butt-ne, and all the other cute blemish names covering Pinterest memes have made more than a few women want to keep the lights off during date night – and frankly, it’s time for that to end. SO, let’s talk getting rid of body acne for good. Side note, you won’t find boring clichés like “exfoliating” on this list.
To get to the nitty gritty of eliminating your breakouts, we first need to look at what causes breakouts on the body. Everything from a few too many sweat sessions and less than luxurious laundry habits to hair growth patterns can cause this frustrating faux pas.
Your booty beauty routine shouldn’t stop in the shower. One of the biggest keys to making over your skincare routine is a good toner! Because organic is always the safest, one way to tone your skin after a shower without causing more irritation is to apply witch hazel liberally to any acne affected areas after cleansing (and especially) after shaving.
Not only will this tighten and clear your skin, but it will prevent ingrown hairs and razor bumps that account for the vast majority of skin issues below the belt. In general, high quality witch hazel can be safely applied anywhere on the surface of your body.
One of the last (but definitely not least) important habits you want to include in your skincare routine to get rid of the acne on your body is to give your body access to air. It’s time to break your habit of tossing on your clothes immediately post-shower, giving your hair follicles access to fresh air can prevent your pores from clogging and help dramatically with maintaining clean, clear skin. Bonus? It’s a great excuse to hang out naked for a while.
Follow these tips with your booty skincare regimen for about a month, and you’ll probably see dramatic improvement in the look and feel of your skin. Not seeing the results you want? Dermatologist Dr. Monika Kiripolsky recommends tossing the loofah and using your hands instead; if you still see no improvement – it might be time to check in with your doctor.
